DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Electrical engineering mainly deals with the generation and distribution of power and maintenance of large power systems. It has been known in the past to encompass electronic engineering, which has obtained an identity of its own only in the recent years. In most cases, both of these disciplines are offered through a combined course of study.
History of Electrical Engineering
Electrical engineers are responsible mainly for power generation and power transmission. The importance of electrical engineering was recognized only in the 19th century. Some of the main contributors to the field of electrical engineering were George Ohm, Micheal Faraday, James Clark Maxwell, Thomas Elva Edison and Nikola Tesla. However, there were many people who played their own part in bringing electrical engineering to the level it is at today.
Applications of Electrical Engineering
The main aim is to ensure the safe usage of electricity. For this purpose they are given the responsibility of designing electrical appliances as well as the wiring system of electricity to ensure supply of electricity to these appliances. Many times electrical engineers have to work on projects that involve a certain degree of electronics engineering. Electrical engineers are concerned with designing the flight systems of aircrafts and rocket propulsion systems. Industrial automation and automobile control system design are also a part of electrical engineering.

Graduates of Electrical and Electronics Engineering shall
PEO1:Possess critical thinking,design skills,ability to utilize latest engineering tools,and capability to pursue research
PEO2:Show specialized fitness to tackle design issues for economic feasibility and Social adequacy.
PEO3:Utilize their abilities in moral and expert way to raise the fulfillment level of stakeholders.
Goals

LONG TERM & SHORT TERM GOALS
1) Up gradation of faculty skills of at least 03 members by sending them to participate in more number of National level short-term programs / work shops/ seminars.
2)To achieve 90-95% results in final examination every academic year.
3) To organize 02 educational tours ever academic year.
4) To organize students presented papers at least a minimum of 15 every academic year.
5) To reduce subjects with High failure rate from present level 30% to 15% every academic year.
6) To cover syllabus 100% as per schedules.
7) To send at least 10 students to participate external paper presentation contests every year.
Industry Institute Interaction:
1) To conduct at least 02 workshops for industries every academic year.
2) At least 02 Guest lectures by eminent persons in different areas for every semester.

About Library
Electrical and Electronics departmentis equipped with a library apart from the Central Library of the Institution.Department Library comprise of a substantial No. of Volumes, Magazines, Dailies and Reference Books for ready reference to its Staff and Students.At present the department library has about different volumes with different titles. It also subscribes for e-Journals, Journals & Magazines.
Apart from curriculum books the library also has titles in the reference section that helps student in preparing for competitive exams and placement tests. Rich collection of books on software technologies makes the student improve his technical and programming skills. CD’s and DVD’s of lectures are also available in the department library facilitating quick learning.Though the library, at present caters to the needs of the undergraduate and post graduate students , it is as well in future being developed to meet the needs of staff doing their Doctoral Program.
The library functions on all working days from Monday to Saturday.
