Functions Of Cell

1.To uphold and comply with the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and be vigilant on any acts amounting to ragging;
2.To publicize to all students about the prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging
3.To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct enquiry and submit report along with punishment recommended for the offenders;
4.Oversee the procedure of obtaining undertaking from the students in accordance with the provisions;
5.Conduct workshops against ragging menace and orient the students;
6.To provide students the information pertaining to contact address and telephone numbers of the person(s) identified to receive complaints/distress calls;
7.To offer services of counseling and create awareness to the students;
8.To take all necessary measures for prevention of Ragging inside the Campus/ Hostels.

Management of the Cell

  1. The composition of committee comprises one senior faculty member as Coordinator nominated by Principal.
  2. One faculty member from each department nominated by HoD and one student member from each class of II,III,IV year students.

Roles of the Convener:

1. Arranges the meeting for the committee members periodically.

2. Maintains minutes for every meeting he had with committee members.

3. Makes resolutions at the end of meetings

4. Provides environment for lodging the complaints by the students

Roles of the Faculty Member:

1. Anti-Ragging committee members will interact with the students periodically to find out whether they are facing any problem or difficulty.

2. To provide information regarding contact number of relevant officials. It will also arrange to hand over the printed information booklet and leaflets about anti-ragging measures, induction and orientation programmes to the new students.

Roles of the Student Member:

1. To act as a role model and assist in delivery of SVIET anti ragging activities.

2. To aid the new students to settle down and make a smooth and peaceful transition to college life, and help them to be adjusted with new environment.

3. To act as a peer counselor for the new students.

4. To provide information regarding contact number of College authorities and also hand over any printed information booklets, leaflets, etc. about anti-ragging measures/ induction programmes and orientation programmes to the new students.

PROCEDURE FOR LODGING COMPLAINT:

1. The students may feel free to put up a complaint in writing/or in the format available in the admin dept. and drop it in boxes

2. The Anti ragging Cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents.

3. The Anti ragging Cell will assure that the problem has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.

THE PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING ISSUES OF RAGGING WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

1. The information on ragging can be received in the following manner :

1. Through the notified contact details of the Committee members, and national help-line number on ragging for necessary relief in terms of the provisions of the UGC Regulations.

2. Through any other member of the Institute.

3. From any external source.

2. In the event of receipt of information of ragging by any of the officers mentioned at (i) above, he/she will promptly alert/inform the convenor of the Anti-Ragging Committee of the Institute or any of its members. The activity shall be completed, at the most, within two hour of receipt of this information.

3. The Anti-Ragging Commitee of the Institute shall promptly conduct a preliminary on the spot enquiry and collect details of the incident as available prima facie. The preliminary investigation/details of the incident shall be immediately brought to the notice of the Convenor of the Institute. The activity shall be completed, at the most, within twenty hours of receipt of information..

4. The Anti-Ragging Committee of the Institute shall complete the enquiry and submit its report along with recommendations to the Convenor of the Anti-Ragging Committee of the Institute within fifteen days of the incident.

5. Thereafter, the said report and recommendations shall be considered by the Anti- Ragging Committee for deciding the punishment on the erring students in terms of policy
